Crayon Re-vamp!

IMG_5102-0.JPGIMG_5117-0.JPG

This afternoon, I decided to give the crayons (I found lying around) a bit of a re-vamp because they looked battered and worn. I decided to chop them up and place them into silicone moulds to give them an entirely new shape. I am very pleased with how they came out! I have posted some photos to share with you all and a little how to if you are interested in making your own, they could be a pretty cool Christmas present for a little one who loves colouring in.

Fancy doing it yourself?
You will need a silicone mould, crayons and an oven. Pre-heat the oven to gas mark six. Depending on the crayons, if they have paper wrapped around them you will need to peel it off. Then with your silicone mould, break up the crayons and put them into the mould and fill it up, it’s not mandatory to fill it all the way up to the top however it’s up to you. You then need to place the silicone mould into the oven and leave the crayons to melt entirely. This will take around 7 to 7 minutes. Don’t let it boil!! Once the crayons have melted, take the silicone mould out of the oven and place it to one side (out-of-the-way as it will be hot) and allow it to cool. Cooling time doesn’t take that long and once it’s cool, it’s not hard to remove from the silicone mould. That’s it, you’re done!!

Let me know how it goes!!
